MX Alliance presents Tech Talk

MX TechTalk, is a new series of evening events sponsored by MX Alliance, for people involved in the development of mobile and wireless applications. These events will complement MXs existing late afternoon events, MX BizTalks, which will continue to have more of a business focus. Of course, you are always welcome to attend both.

The TechTalk events will be very informal, and will consist of short interactive talks from folks involved in the industry, covering a broad range of topics such as development case studies, interesting new technologies to watch, new OSS tools, development environments and so on.

The key feature of MX TechTalk events will be accessibility for the individual:

• Free to attend - no need to be an MX member
• Will be held in the evening so no need to arrange time off work to attend
• Will alternate between Edinburgh and Glasgow initially, with the intention of holding events in other locations in due course. Approx six events per year
• Informal atmosphere - discussion encouraged and expected

The first meeting will take place in the Canons Gait, High Street, Edinburgh, starting at 7pm on Wednesday 7th December.

Geoff Ballinger, CTO at Mixipix Ltd., and Jim Black from MX Alliance, will briefly introduce TechTalk and the MX Alliance. Michael Ewins, Platform and Services Development Manager at iPlay, will present a talk on Lessons learned in SMS application development. Geoff Ballinger, CTO at Mixipix Ltd., will present a short talk on "2.5/3G data networks - things a service developer might like to know".

There will be access to a bar and sandwiches will be provided for those who haven't managed to grab a bite after work.
